To begin with, the whole horror of this passage began with the refrigerator we have at work. The hardest and toughest part of this game was standing through the whole shift, that fridge was really weighing on my brain.
I could say that you're good for learning, but I can see that you absolutely don't want to try harder on games. Let's go over the basics:
1. you didn't bother to change ANYTHING, you just put in shitty furniture that shines, all you have to do is change the material, it looks cheesy.
2. TV. Why is it green? Same here, you were too lazy to change its material.
3. The lighting. Absolute lack of logic in its arrangement. I do not even know how to describe it, why do you have in random places on the map just appears light? There are no flashlights or any other logical light sources, it's just a light source with nothing. By the way, the lanterns from where the light should essentially shine are black xD
3. Glass. There is absolutely no glass anywhere in the house: on the windows, on the blender, on the microwave. Not even the shelf in the bathroom has glass on it! There's just white materials everywhere.
4. Animations. About them briefly, just miserable.
5. The plot. Absolute lack of logic and common sense, the plot as such no from the word at all. Why a man in the form of a cat? Why does our father so shit on everything? And why did our father finally come out with a tent in the middle of the night with a gun on the street next to us?
This is clearly my worst gameplay ever, I've replayed almost every game on this site and this was the worst.
My advice is to stop riveting games without end, start thinking and learn something new.
Thank you for taking the time to play the game — even though your comment reads more like an attempt to flex hostility than to offer mature, constructive criticism.
The game you played is a short indie horror experience made entirely by me, for free, and shared on itch.io. It's not a AAA production, and it's unfair (and frankly, unhelpful) to judge it as if it were one. You claim it's the "worst experience" you've ever had — yet you finished it and wrote a full essay about it. That alone tells me the game left an impact, even if it wasn't the one you wanted.
Some of your technical points — like materials or lighting — are fair and I'm working to improve those areas. But the way you deliver them, filled with mockery and cheap shots, says more about your attitude than about the game itself. If your goal was to help, you would’ve offered feedback with basic respect instead of sarcasm about narrative choices that were deliberately surreal and unsettling.
I'm not here to please everyone, especially not those who can’t differentiate between a small experimental project and a full-scale release. Still, let me leave you with one important thing: My future in game development won't stop at short horror games — I'm building toward larger, more ambitious titles. And who knows? You might find yourself playing one of them someday — if you’re still more interested in playing than attacking people who are actually trying.
Okay, if you want constructive criticism then I'll give it to you.
I realize that your game is just an indie horror game. However:
1. Your fridge sounds very loud and intrusive, you should make it much quieter.
2. There is no menu (ESC button) in the game, accordingly there are no settings. I think this has a bit of a negative impact on the game experience. In the settings should be at least volume and sensitivity settings.
3. Working with light is complicated, but it would be good for you to learn it, as the light has a great impact on the gameplay. I would also advise you to learn how to bake light (if you haven't already).
4. You have arranged the furniture, but you should have also changed its materials and changed the smoothness to zero.
5. The circle in the center of the screen should have been reduced, personally my preference so don't be discouraged.
Great game I enjoyed playing it! One thing I disliked was the buzzing background music from the supermarket area, it was quite loud so I had to mute it down for the video.
Saludos!!!

I Need to Stop Working The Midnight Shift... - (short Horror)
Nice game!
Had fun playing this!
I'm a little bit stupid so some direction would be handy, otherwise it was pretty enjoyable!
Nice work, Amine! A good and solid short horror! Creepy and fun. You are very talented! Awesome! 5/5
(Gameplay in Portuguese)
absolute cinema
Lacklustre unfortunately, no dialogue outside of a few instances, needs more worldbuilding.
I like this game

My favorite one. Outstanding job for Amine Developer.
Great game, really love these uncanny 2000s aesthetics
